unit6

The exercise took me to a quiet place. The more I read the short sentences the deeper my body felt in relaxation. all I could hear was myself saying the words and them repeating in my head. I used candles for this exercise. Lit candles help me relax and focus on the task. I discovered about myself, that the more relax I become, my mind relaxes. The more my mind relax the clearer my thoughts, until there aren't any. I eventually doze off to sleep, sitting up in the meditation position. It's not for long, but I feel refreshed from the 10 minute snooze. My area of focus for growth and development is the inner me. I can feel the spiritual me, but it keeps hiding inside, like it is shy. It has the urge to be known. I can get more candles, votives are my favorite and meditate more. The more I do it the more my body can get use to it. May be I will began to stay awake when I close my eyes.

unit 5

I liked the loving kindness exercise better. It made me feel warm and happy inside. It just reinforced what I was always feeling and acts that I perform. I did not like the subtle mind exercise too much. Though it was relaxing, it cleared my mind too much. I had no thoughts or emotions. I felt neither negative or positive emotions. I thought that was weird.

Let me give an example of how my spiritual, mental, and physical wellness. When there is something in my life that requires a decision, if it doesn't feel right in my soul, and  I think I do not want to do it, my body tenses up. It bothers me to even think about it. I dismiss it as a disagreement of the body. My mind-body-soul all have to agree. They are all connected.

unit 4 part 2

The concept is to expand healing capabilities. Research indicates gamma waves in the brain synchronize and show higher level of mind training, which can be short or long term. Showing compassion is a taught emotion to others to give back in return. To foster my psychological health, I can do the exercise after work each day to unwind. My mind slows down in the evening. When I wake up, the wheels of thought start right away. I am high energy during the morning, by 3pm my body slows down.

unit 4

I listened to the mp3 of loving kindness. I found it very beneficial to relieve stress. The warm colors sent out rays of love and comfort. It relaxed me so much that I fell asleep before it was done. Every inch of my body focused on the warm colors. I would recommend this to anyone needing to open themselves to love and warmness.

Unit 3 Blog

I rate my physical well-being as a 5.
Spiritual is a 7.
Psychosocial is a 4.
Why? My physical well-being is experiencing tense muscles and soreness from stress. My spiritual I do prayer and some meditation to release the tension. Psychologically I need to step into my mind closer to eliminate and prevent what is causing the issues.
For my physical goal, I can increase stretching, walking, and yoga. These always made me feel better. Spiritual and psychological, I can use aromatherapy with music and focus on an image that is comfortable to look at. I need to do more meditation and visualization. I have trouble focusing, because my mind keeps switching back and forth on other things.
The relaxation exercise was not for me. I rather listen to the music alone. Because the music alone is relaxing, but listening to a person speak, while it is playing, frustrates me. It's like dealing hearing people constantly speak at work.
